Phantom in Singapore

I watched Phantom Of The Opera at the Esplanade last Sunday, the matinee show with my brother and sister. Tickets courtesy of dad. :)

I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Not a very high score for $122 tickets but well, deserving.

Christine was somewhat weak, the Phantom was good, overall characters lacked chemistry with each other. No spark between Christine and Raoul.

This is my second time watching Phantom - the first was waaay back at Kallang Theatre. I remember enjoying it very much; mom said Sarah Brightman was Christine but I can't be sure. And I suspect that is why I wasn't too impressed with Phantom this time round. It's tough to meet high expectations when you've watched it before and heard the music countless times. You expect the show to be fabulous and that's a difficult goal to reach.

Still it was an enjoyable time at the theatre :)
