Dominic's first brush with illness

Dominic's first brush with illness started last weekend.

On Saturday (25 Oct) evening I noticed he was coughing, so being worried, I gave him a dose of cough mixture before bed.

On Sunday, his cough got worse and nose started to run a little. Continued with his cough mixture, and decided to see the doctor the next day.

Monday is Deepavali public holiday, and our usual pediatrician was closed. So made an appointment and went to see the nearby GP who was popular with children. Dominic was diagnosed with cough, runny nose, and a sore throat (poor baby!) and fever (suspect was from the hot weather during the wait to see GP). Was prescribed antibiotics, fever and cough and runny nose medicine.

Medicine-time was terrible, Dom hates taking them and has to be force-fed. After taking his meds, he'd show his disgust by wailing and grumbling loudly, and then blowing loud, messy raspberries at us!

The good news is that three days on, his nose is no longer runny and is coughing less. His appetite has decreased significantly, and I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but is slightly lighter already! @_@ Can't wait for him to recover his health and appetite.

What a way to mark his 6th month! My wish for him is that he'll get over this illness to be even stronger than before.
